Flying solo ...

Welcome to a new format for our TJD e-letters! Also check out the hot new look website... you like?

Now you'll be able to comment on what we blog directly on our website. I hope you enjoy interacting with each other.

E-letters are so 2000... I know I'm a little bit behind the times cos blogging is definitely not the latest trend either! Oh well better late than never...

I'll be doing some monthly solo gigs at a gorgeous little cafe in Perth called The Publican. It's going to be fun. They are short sessions (20 minutes) but they'll give me the opportunity to do our originals and material that I wouldn't normally perform with the rest of the band like songs by my favourite artists. If you are interested in going to one of these solo gigs, just email me and I'll be happy to give you the dates.

We are still auditioning new members. It's been interesting to meet some really talented musicians... but for one reason or another they haven't been right for us. I'm sure the right guys will come along soon . It's like trying to find your a soul mate! There was one guy who seemed ideal and we really liked, but he turned us down due to personal reasons. Oh well... you know who you are... thanks for trying out with us and we really wish you loads of success! Things happen for a reason.

I hope you are still finding things to be thankful for in spite of the gloom and doom on the news. In economic down times music and the arts usually do okay because people need to find a release from the pressures of real life. We hope that you can get that sense of escape when you listen to our music.

Still writing new stuff. Time is hard to find these days. A rare commodity!

Also want to recommend you check out my friend's myspace, Carmel Charlton at www.myspace.com/carmelcharlton. She's recorded a CD to support the victims of the Victorian bushfires. So many people have lost their homes it's hard to believe. Please buy a CD from her (all proceeds go to the cause). She's also holding a concert for this on Sunday 29th March from 7.30 to 9.00pm.Venue: 26 Bentwood Avenue, Woodlands (please assist by bringing fold up chair). Entry: $10 includes CD & supper with all proceeds from the CD to benefit St Vincent de Paul Society's Victorian Disaster Appeal.

I look forward to hearing from you!

P.S. been listening to Katy Perry a lot recently... I love her sense of humour and image.
Check out this youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shjkXSM6go8 (starts off shaky on some notes... nerves - I can relate! But gets going and is great)

Also re-discovering the beauty of Crowded House ... 'Into Temptation' is such a well-written song! Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MXKZUX8XgY to check it out.
